Web Master

Well as some of you will know I’ve been maintaining the club web site for over a decade
Who am I!
David Harris member of the club since 1989, I’m not normally dresses like this at the club, but my grey hair should be a good giveaway!
I started sailing with a ‘Heron’ which I built myself, but only having the plans it was not equipped with some of the modern fittings but still managed to win one race at the club, Its still at the club and can often be seen sailing.

My second boat was a ‘Solo’ but this was built while I could see modern boats and I had advice from other ‘Solo’ owners, so it’s won a few more races.

I run a small IT support company from my home in Malvern, offering IT services to small companies across the three counties, Servers, Databases, web sites I offer a complete service…. Must keep drumming up business

Over the years the club has changed, back in the 90’s Avon week was a riot of activity with large number of youngsters and parents staying the who week, however a lot of these youngsters have now flown the nest, but I see a new generation coming up.

I’ve felt for some time the web site needed a fresh look and feel and where possible, give administrators of the web site the chance to keep things up to date, such things as
Contact details, Committee members images, stories, trophies as well as acting as a moderator for the blog and images section.

This work has now been completed and I feel its time to hand the web site over to others, for the technically minded the web site has been created using ‘Dreamweaver’ and ‘Active Server Pages’ with a little PHP to process the images.

If there’s anybody out there (who’s spelling is better than mine) and has the skills, please contact me (you will find me on the contacts page)

Regards
Dave
