Topper open meetingFounder and current members are proud and passionate of the Avon Sailing Club which was founded over half a century ago, such was there enthusiasm that the club retained it name when it moved from the River Avon to The River Severn in the 1960’s

Over the decades the club has produced national champions, dinghy designers and even Olympic medal winners.

Members are keen to point out that contrary to popular myth sailing is not elitist; with family membership with one boat still less than £100 per year and boats can be purchased for a few hundred.
We have different categories of membership for members of other clubs, single members and members with out boats.

Established in 1949 on the River Avon - Relocated to Chaceley on the river Severn in 1960. The Avon Sailing Club is situated in the beautiful Gloucestershire countryside near Tewkesbury. (Directions) Shore facilities include clubhouse complete with well stocked bar, changes rooms & showers, boat storage, and camping facilities. 

RYA Recognized Youngsters have always been most welcome at Avon, and special races are held to encourage them onto the water. In late August the club attempts to organise a week of activities for families involving sail training as well as fun and games for the youngsters.

Available for hire (by members) are 3 Enterprise, 8 Toppers, 2 Lasers, 1 Solo  		 Adults sailing toppers
